A Gap In Marvel’s Iron Man Armour
I really like Iron Man and i like the way Marvel is handling the films it is making. You really get a sense that they’re creating a Marvel Universe on film.
Stuff like this bothers me though.
If this is true then i’m worried about the way Marvel is running this ship. In order to maintain all these good actors on all of this wonderful franchise potential Marvel really needs to amp up the good will. Big names are not likely to hang around in ensemble roles or suffer massive filming schedules if they don’t feel comfortable with the company employing them. More importantly, big names are even less inclined to even jump onto a project if they think they’re going to get shafted sometime in the future.
The best thing about Iron Man was that they got big names across the board. They didn’t have to fill the minor roles with minor actors. Surely they didn’t do that by handing out the cash in one massive load. Surely they must have talked to these people and convinced them that they had a future with Marvel. Now it seems that this future isn’t worth the contract paper it’s printed on.
Similar rumblings hit The Incredible Hulk when it came out. After some conflict over the final cut of the film Edward Norton decided to pull out of the press junket for Hulk. This isn’t good. They’ve only just rebooted the damn franchise with a new actor. Switching leads again will bury Hulk, perhaps for good.
Something is rotten in the House of Ideas. I love my Marvel. I love that they’re getting control of their property and making awesome movies. But if all this is true and this is how they intend to do business then i am worried because eventually no one of any value will want to work with them.

I don’t know if you know this or not, but a “chink” is a very derogatory term used against Asians in the U.S.
…I thought Marvel said something wrong, Lol.

Anyways, I don’t have a problem with Terrence Howard leaving the Iron Man franchise. Out of all the characters in Iron Man, Terrence was the one who stood out the less. Don Cheadle might actually be a good idea.
But, yes, I agree that something is seriously wrong with Marvel.

Oh shit.
I’m so sorry, Aimee.
I’ll fix it up right away.

Reg, Ami (or its variation Aimee) is a German slur for Americans. Formerly specifically for American soldiers, now for Americans in general.
Better change that one up too…
on a side note, gotta love wikipedia:
