bad company - bad decision
Just in case you hadn’t heard, EA’s new game Battlefield: Bad Company is going to engage in some shameless profiteering by having parts of the game offered as downloadable content.
Basically this means that in order to enjoy the full game experience you will not only need to purchase the $120 game, you’ll also need to drop even more money buying DLC online.
This is a horrid decision and sets a truly terrifying precedent.
I have signed this petition on the Sarcastic Gamer website. I urge all gamer fans to do the same.

I loved Battlefield 2, and I can’t wait for Bad Company, but charging for weapons is ridiculous!
Apparently, the purchasable weapons do not give you an advantage in the game, “All weapons are balanced for gameplay”, so whats the point in selling them then?
The Gold edition of the game comes with 5 of the purchasable weapons, so it may be a wiser purchase - depending on its price over the standard edition of course. But even with the Gold edition, there are still some weapons that must be purchased separately.
Not happy EA. I probably will buy your game, but I won’t buy your weapons!

I won’t buy the game.
That may be because i am poor but i’d much rather say it is because i’m outraged.

Oh my gawd….$120 for a video game? OK! Now that’s ridiculous. I’m too cheap to even buy a $40 PSP game these days!
