casting news for wolverine movie
I was browsing the Marvel website for the first time in a while and i came across some information about the cast of the new Wolverine movie.
The can read the full article on the Marvel website but i thought i’d open some of the casting up for discussion.
Deadpool is to be played by Ryan Reynolds.
I don’t like Deadpool. I find his pressence in the comics painful at time. It hurts a little that he’s in the latest Wolverine: Origins arc in the comics. I do like Ryan Reynolds. I think he’s really funny and talented. I can only hope that Deadpool is toned down in the movie (which usually happens in comic-to-movie adaptations) because i would hate for there to be this stupidly abnoxious character tainting this film.
Gambit (exciting!) is to be played by Taylor Kitsch (…).
Gambit is one of my favourite characters which is odd because aside from the recent Messiah Complex storyline he hasn’t actually been in many of the comics that i’ve read since i got into comics. I’ve just always found his character fascinating though. Taylor Kitsch is a complete stranger to me. I’ve heard that his show, Friday Night Lights, is quite good but i really can’t comment on the man himself aside from the fact that he does look fairly pretty which is definately Gambit. Time will tell on this one.
This one has been around for a while but i haven’t said anything about it (which surprised even me when i realised that). Liev Schreiber as Sabertooth.
Holy frak this is exciting. Liev is an amazing actor and i am really looking forward to how he tackles Sabertooth. I’m imagining that there will be a visceral menace about him. You’ll feel physically repulsed by him as soon as he steps on screen. This is exciting.

I still can’t get over how funny it is that Barnell Bohusk will be in the movie. Oh gosh. Lol.

Yeah. I’ve never actually seen Beak in any of the comics (aside from Morrison’s last arc which was an alternate future story so it doesn’t count.
