for those not paying attention

I recently posted about a campaign by SarcasticGamer where they were trying to start up a boycott of EA’s new entry in the Battlefield franchise; Battlefield: Bad Company.

In case you hadn’t heard, EA were planning on selling what many believed was release game content as an optional extra for those with cash to burn.

After many big name gaming websites like Joystiq started spreading the word something pretty cool happened.

EA changed their minds and decided to release the game with all available content included.

This is pretty special. Massive props to SarcasticGamer for getting the ball rolling on this and following it through to the end. Credit must also be given to the fanbase that helped spread the word to other websites.

An update on what’s happening with the content is available here.

  • yea! woot! this is good news. I think that the “Gold” version of the game still has weapons not available in the standard version, but this is ok. I just hope we get both versions here in Australia. We always tend to miss out on things, get them much later, or even get cut down versions.

  • Oh whoo! Boycotts really can work!
