By the time everyone comes here they’ll probably already know this but i felt like putting it up anyway.

Heath Ledger has been found dead in his Soho apartment. The cause of death isn’t known as yet but the reports are suggesting it was a drug overdose.

This is pretty shocking. He was only 28. Bloody hell.

    Holy crap!! I just found that out like 15 minutes ago. It really bites…it’s just too bad!

    Now Batman is going to have a super huge box office rate because Heath Ledger is dead…so much publicity. O_O

    I know. So shocking.

    I was talking with a friend and he said that his first thought was about what was gonna happen with the movie. We might think that is a bit selfish but it is only a relfex though.

    That is pretty much what i expect the discussion here to turn to.

    You’re right, it will probably mean more press for the film leading up to it’s release. It will also put a pretty bleak pall over the film as well.

    I’d heard stories about what he went through preparing for the role. They were pretty intense. I’d heard that he locked himself in a hotel room for a month trying to get the character in his head.

    Freaky stuff.

    It’ll certainly add another dimension to watching the film.

    Police have confirmed that sleeping pills were found around Heath Ledger’s body. They are still not sure if the death was accidental or suicide.

    Terribly, terribly sad, whether it was suicide or an accidental death. Adrian, it’s interesting what you say about his preparation for the role of the Joker - perhaps his preparation was too intense? Inhabiting the mind of a psychopathic, schizophrenic, deeply scary character has the potential to be damaging to one’s own psyche, I would think. It would be interesting to know whether he used any sorts of drugs to try to replicate the paranoia and disjointedness of schizophrenia, like hallucinogens or PCP.
