insane woman kills promising young scientist

So i just watched episode 3 of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and was immediately struck by the sheer homicidal stupidity of Sarah Connor. Does she honestly think she can stop Judgment Day by killing scientists? At best she can postpone the event but even then it is unlikely.

So what is she doing? From the looks of things she is simply indulging in her own need for homicidal release. She has seen (or at least been told) that an event of total human destruction will come about and she (as she realised in Terminator 2) has no way of stopping it. She is helpless to stop Judgment Day.

So this helplessness has manifested in a psychological need to eliminate those that she perceives as being responsible for Judgment Day.

  • She burnt his house down. She likes playing with fire as well.

  • Sarah’s very actions may actually be bringing about judgment day.

The scientists she kills may be the very people who during the construction of Skynet would of said, “Hey, how about adding some laws of robotics here so it can’t kill the human race”

First rule of temporal physics, the more you try to change the future the more it stays the same.

  • That’s right. I’d never thought of that.

Maybe they’ll put some of that into the series later on. That’d be cool.
