Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 Fusion

So there’s a teaser trailer for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion.

So far no game details unfortunately.

I have two theories, neither of which fills me with excitement.

Theory One: the four heroes playing can combine their powers to form some sort of super power that blast away enemies. A boss killing power basically. This sounds too gimmicky and frankly not enough to warrant a sequel.

Theory Two: the four heroes can combine physically to form a super superhero. This would be bad. You already have enough powers to maintain as a single hero and with this you’ll have dozens more throughout dozens of combinations. So you have Wolverine/Hulk/Cyclops/Elektra. So you’re super strong, have adamantium claws, can shoot optic beams and can break out some bad ass ninja moves. You also have a visor, green skin, lots of body hair and a skimpy red bikini superhero outfit. Like i said, this is the bad option.

I need power and gameplay details otherwise i’m just going to assume the worst. I need story details otherwise i’m just gonna keep playing MUA1.

  • I saw that! Honestly, the characters look like crap, but MUA hasn’t really been known for its graphics. Other than that, I’m really excited about the game. I hope Emma Frost will be in it.

  • I wasn’t a fan of using 4 characters at once in this game. The spare three characters always got in the way, and were pretty useless cos I stuck to my favourite character 98% of the time (go Captain America). Sure it meant you could play with three other friends at the same time, but the camera tracking isn’t great with 4 players at once.

Because it is a 4 player game, I would say that theory one is more likely then theory two.

  • Please no theory 2. That would be horrible, unless they combine into captain planet, but that won’t happen.

Neil is right, they will want to keep it with 4 players. So I hope that “fusion” means fusing of powers, and not fusing of bodies. Fusing of powers would work for ranged characters, but how would it work for melee characters like wolverine? Fusing powers for a single super attack would be much better than the individual super attacks that often either missed (melee characters), or didnt deal much damage anyways.

    Finally: put gambit in it!

  • Gambit gets my vote for a character addition too. He’d be an awesome character to play.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Angel (or Archangel) either.
