Monday

This day was spent mostly setting up my computer with all the programs i wanted and trying to make them work. Mostly successful in this endevour. Thunderbird proved somewhat problematic but that’s probably because i’m not 100% sure how to use it.

I also tidied my office up a bit. Cleaned out the drawers and filled them with my stuff. Cleaned space on the desk. Much paper was disposed of.

In general, not doing much work. While this isn’t much of a surprise if you know me i actually have an excuse. My boss didn’t come in. Basically i had no one to tell me what i was meant to do. Thankfully the above-mentioned tasks kept me occupied.

Tuesday

My boss was in on Tuesday. She spent a bit of time in the morning answering some of the emails that had backed up over the weekend so i had some time to collect my thoughts in preparation for the day ahead.

It went alright. After half an hour of training i was kinda freaking out. This is pretty typical of me. I gets the jitters and start thinking “fuck, i can’t do this!” Thankfully that passed after about an hour of doing stuff on my own. There were of course a few questions i needed to ask but all in all i found i was able to grasp enough of the basics to get by.

By close of Tuesday i was actually feeling pretty good about everything.

Wednesday

Today as a matter of fact. Didn’t start as well as i’d have hoped. I was shown another aspect of my job and i freaked out even more than i did on Tuesday. This stuff looked hard. Lots of flicking between screens (which i loathe) and a faor amount of trouble if i fuck it up.

Do overs are a marevlous thing. “Woops, that didn’t work. I’ll just go back and try that again”. Computer games have spoiled me.

Thankfully i haven’t made any stuff ups that i know of. There are a few safeguards that will prevent me from screwing anything up royally but that will take a few weeks to sink in i think.

Hopefully i don’t forget all of this over the Xmas break.
