new look
Hi all,
You may have noticed (well, the three people that frequent my site) that i’ve changed my design. I’ve been wanting to do this for a while but have been hampered by the fact that i have zero technical ability when it comes website construction.
After Dreamhost sabotaged my last attempt to get a website working bee together with some scheduled downtime the awesomeification process sort of stalled. While this was annoying at the time it did give me pause to muse on what i wanted from this website. I won’t go into the deep existentialism of that process but what came out of it was that I’m not going to start any sort of fanboy-based online community.
With this in mind i’ve decided to call a spade a spade and stop calling this thing a website.
It’s a blog. From here on in I’ll be treating it as such.

Thanks, Aimee.
There’s a couple of things that i want to change with it but this is more or less how it will look.
Different picture though.

Yay, let me at it, spending hours musing over the placement of one or two pixels… hmmm maybe better off not.
Critical opinion:
Pros: New design looks crisp, clean, elegant, etc
Cons: Search and Feed side bits are oversized
So what are you going to do with your domain now?

It’s clean and crisp, but seems a little bland.
Of course there is nothing wrong with a minimalist approach, just takes some getting used too.
The font size in the reply section seems a little large.

It is somewhat bold, yes.
The search and feed bits are way too prominent in the site design. That’s one of the things i want to fix up.
Once i get the new banners in there i’m hoping to add some more spark to the design.
Thanks very much for the feedback.

I’m impressed that you used the term”existentialism”
