What Obama Will Do For Science
I’m well aware that anything a politician says before he gets elected is worth as much as my crappy dell i’m typing this up on. But if even half of these statements from Barack Obama come to pass then I will be very excited.

Funny, I read the post. At no point is any funding figure announced.
Call me skeptical, but most of these promises are very “fudgable”. Don’t get me wrong, McCain won’t be any better in terms of specifics, dollars and DETAIL (a CTO that sounds like it just generates more memos to other government branches which their CIO’s may or may not be bound by, but probably not).

We’ll see. As Linds said, wait for the funding figures.
As for the space program reporting directly to the president, that has me a little worried. I remember some of Bush’s early proposals before he settled on the missile defence shield.
Mass drivers in orbit.

Such cynics.
It really is all pie in the sky stuff but i’m just excited that he’s actually talking about this. Granted it was at a science convention but still it is good.
Still nothing on the Kennedy moon speech but he had some awesome speech writers.

I feel bad for you. Another non-USA’er for Obama. Obama is a hack! And I do not like him…

Like the alternative is any better.
Republician, Democrat, Labor, Liberal, New Labour, Tories. They’re all the same.

Never said the alternative is any better. =)
