why do they hate donna?
Mild spoiler warning for the Doctor Who finale.
In May i posted about the episode of Doctor Who titled “The Doctor’s Daughter”. Among other concerns this article mentioned a scene that, i thought, was a bit of a swipe at Catherine Tate not being as traditionally attractive as the other companions of the new Doctor Who.
I now have more evidence to support my theory.
We all know that Captain Jack Harkness is a horny guy. Statement of fact. Sun will rise, so will Jack. He hits on everyone and everything. He hits on Rose. He hits on Martha. He hits on blue beetle girl from Utopia in season 3. He hits on Sarah Jane. He even tries to hit on the Doctor.
He doesn’t bat an eyelid at Donna.
Now this would be ok normally because there are one or two characters that Jack leaves alone. He doesn’t try it on with either Harriet Jones (former Prime Minister and god didn’t that get old) or Mickey Smith. These characters didn’t seem to care though.
Donna on the other hand throws herself repeatedly at Jack and gets nothing back from him. The worst moment comes towards the end of episode 13 when she pulls Sarah Jane off of Jack and goes in for a grope herself.
I realise that this is my theory and that i might perhaps be looking for stuff to support it but i think it is pretty blatant especially when you take into account what happens to her at the very end of the episode (therapeutic lobotomy anyone?).
So answer me this gentle readers. Why do they hate Donna?
